Cracks in Tunnelhull aluminum boats?
Answer:
The trouble is that Aluminum is not great in the fatigue department.
While the new alloys are much better today than a few years ago
eventually some welding will be required. However this kind of repair is
cheap and it maybe years before it needs to be done. The fact is
Aluminum boats are great work horse boats especially fishing when it
doesn't matter to much about the guts and goo and its easy to clean out.
The other great thing about aluminum boats is a scratch does not matter.
Hell the boat was made with scratches. A Glass boat owner has a heart
attack with each small scratch.
