Question:
Is purchasing a used skiboat (rather than a new one) a good idea for
someone new to boats? That is, are skiboats known to be durable? Is it
like a car: if you buy a used one in decent shape can it last you for
years?
Assuming that the vessel is in decent shape, is this kind of boat
likely to last several years w/o giving much trouble (assuming proper
maint. and garaging)? This '89 boat sold for about 1/2 price of the
new model.
Any suggestions as to docs to read before buying a used boat?
Anyone has experience buying used boats off ebay motors? Any horror
stories? Any success stories?

You might want to post the question over at rec.sport.waterski
I recently purchased an old Correct Craft SN in really good shape on
ebay for a little over 2.000.00, So there are some good deals.
The only problem is when your bidding on something sight unseen you take
a hellava chance on throwing away good money.
I don't know anything about the Challenger ski boats, but very few
compare to the CC quality.
