Fishing Boat Seat?

Question:
Fishing Boat Seat? Has anyone here ever used the clamp on swivel seat mounting bases designed fishing boats (Cabela's carries them). I would like to install padded seats on my fishing boat but would prefer not to drill holes in the metal tank seats. Just wondering how secure and solid the clamp on bases are.

Answer:
- For my Valco, I got a spring held seat mount. Do not rememer if it was a Valco brand, but worked great. Was easy to adjust the seat location and was solid when sitting in the seat. The Valco is a tiller, and could slide the seat over to allow for better tiller handling position and then put it back in the middle for fishing.

- The seat clamp out of Cabela's works great. I've had one for years and can recommend it. Nice and portable. Other then being alittle careful when you lean back with all you're weight it is pretty stable. Make sure you have it adjusted for you're boat and you should be alright
